“Wow” — I cannot put into words how beautiful this country is. Unfortunately, even our pictures and videos have a hard time capturing it all. Our NZ journey began in Christchurch before taking the bus (an eight hour trip) to Queenstown. Kiwis are very conversational, so it was very easy to get advise on great places to eat, drink and go hiking.
Queenstown is definitely the place to be when it comes to the south island, there is sooo much to do, especially if you’re into extreme sports.   We explored both the Doubtful and Milford Sounds, which is where we took most of our pictures (some via helicopter!!).  We then traveled further south with Scott and Sue to their new home in Gore.
Sydney is a beautiful city that is surprisingly easy to get around. The first few days were spent in Manly, a perfect place for hiking. The ferry ride to Manly went right past the Opera House, so we were immediately able to take the famous touristic picture.  Â
We had a lot of recommendations by our friends who have traveled to Sydney, so our days were packed.  We were glad that we made it to the Blue Mountains. Our tour guide was awesome…he liked our group so much that he went out of his way to show us Olympic Park on our way back to the Wharf. Kendra’s main priority was to see a Koala, so we of course had to spend a day at the zoo. Our week ended with sky diving which has been the highlight of our trip.Â
Our only trouble was finding regular coffee…
